One of the main outcomes the FCA wants to see as part of the Consumer Duty is around consumer understanding.
In this video, Mike Barrett explains there has been less focus on this outcome to date, but that he expects that to change very soon.
He says the requirement to go beyond disclosure and establish that clients have understood why they’re invested the way they are represents a Consumer Duty “sting in the tail”.
