As another year rolls around, we continue our podcat series with a conversation with fintech expert and enthusiast Dave Henderson.

Dave spent nearly 20 years at Hargreaves Lansdown in a variety of roles, including helping to set up the company's tech hub in Warsaw.

He's also an advisory board member at FinTech West, which runs events and networking for fintech start-ups and established firms in and around Bristol and Bath.

In this episode, Tom and Dave discuss the Kalifa review of the UK fintech sector, including its recommendations around tech visas to attract fintech talent.

Another recommendation was to set up a Centre for Finance, Innovation, and Technology, and Dave looks at why growth in the fintech space isn't just about being London-centric.

They also chat about whether open banking has delivered on its promises and the move to 'open wealth', as well as some of the fintech firms to watch and what they're up to - from blocks on gambling to using AI to trace pensions.

We hope you enjoy listening - if you do, leave us a review wherever you get your podcasts.

And if you missed our previous chat with Darren Philp of Smart Pension (so good it's in two parts), listen back here
