What’s new in Analyser: Feature downloads and data collection

We’ve just completed our latest round of Analyser developments. Some of these changes are little tweaks, some have been made as a result of adviser feedback, and some help us in the way we manage and collect data across platforms and MPS ranges.

Here’s a snapshot of the latest updates.

Groups and categories

Previously you could download selected features to an Excel spreadsheet – now you can also download the groups and categories those features sit within. This change was one requested by advisers.

If you’re unfamiliar with or new to Analyser, selecting features is the starting point from which you can compare platforms or MPS providers, or create a due diligence report.

Once you’ve chosen the platforms or providers you want to know more about, use the dropdown menu to select the groups you want. These are things like general information, tools and reporting, back office links and client functionality.

You’re then given a category breakdown of each group, and from there you can pick all or any of the features you’re interested in.

Custom pricing

One of the (many) benefits of using Analyser for due diligence is the ability to add your own custom pricing deals if you have them with particular platforms.

We’ve added a prompt to set up any custom pricing deals alongside your client segments before you go into the platform due diligence process.

Other changes

We’ve also updated our help text across the board, and made some changes to our insights & help section, where premium users can find the latest reports and insights from the lang cat, plus our user help guides.

Some extra resources have also been added to support providers in submitting their data to us, such as how we define certain data points and, on the MPS Analyser side, what providers need to upload in terms of performance data for their MPS ranges.

A note about data

Our development process on Analyser is all about making continual improvements. The same applies to our approach to maintaining robust data – we’re always looking for ways to hone and finetune the data we collect.

Comprehensive data collection means deeper insights into how the market is working, which in turn feeds into our reports at the lang cat, our outputs and pretty much everything we do.

Our hope is this will inform decisions around platforms and investments, and even ultimately lead to better ways of working for advisers, providers and the clients they serve.

Analyser allows us to capture all kinds of data and updates digitally, and keep it accurate and up-to-date. A system is only as good as the data that goes in, so we’re proud to stand behind our data and the infrastructure that underpins it all.
