Our latest update for Platform Analyser users sees the addition of the latest AKG ratings on platforms' financial strength.

Financial strength isn't one of the major drivers of adviser due diligence - that's usually things like service and profit, plus price obviously comes into it.

But it is still important to think about in the mix, especially given the FCA's concerns about business resilience and the impact on clients when tech goes wrong.

We host the latest AKG ratings within Analyser, which are updated on a quarterly basis. You can find these in the 'business analysis' section when you run a full due diligence report.

You can also choose to include whether a platform or its parent company is profitable.

There are also more generic details on financial strength within the business information section of our Platform Directory.

When we last looked at our data on financial strength, we found among those firms who use it as a selection criteria many opted for a rating of B- or above, with 27% requiring a rating of B or above.

Here's what AKG has to say about its financial strength ratings, and its adviser-specific approach:

Fidelity's new name

Elsewhere, we've updated Platform Analyser to reflect the rebrand of the FundsNetwork platform to Fidelity Adviser Solutions.

Fidelity says the new name reflects an offering that's moved beyond pure funds to include additional tools, products and services.

Free users can now find Fidelity's platform information under the Fidelity International logo, with references to FundsNetwork removed.
