What’s new in Analyser: The stats you need for your next platform review

Depending on how you use Platform Analyser, you may or may not be aware that every quarter we produce an Adviser Briefing.

This packs in a whole load of data to aid you and your firm in your platform review and due diligence process.

It includes at-a-glance platform market data on factors such as market share and profitability, and also houses our platform ratings.

This is where advice professionals score the platforms they use based on general satisfaction, service, proposition and less tangible things like value for money and commitment to market.

These are supported by adviser comments, some good, some bad, but always frank and honest.

That would be plenty for one document, but we also provide a market analysis (outlining the wider political, economic and technology backdrop in which we all operate), information on the regulatory themes to watch and the latest platform developments.

How this fits in with Platform Analyser

The benefit of having this wealth of data at our disposal, from both advisers and planners but also platforms themselves, means it all feeds into making sure your due diligence decisions are being made on the most up-to-date information.

With Q4 stats now readily available, this has meant an update to our data across the piece for the full 2021 year. You can now access the latest platform data for the following points for each platform you’re considering:

- Total AUA

- Full-year net flows

- Turnover

- Pre-tax profit (or loss) for a platform’s parent company and the platform itself

- Number of clients

- Number of advisers

- Advised AUA

- Market share

- Service ratings.

With full-year reporting to hand, and the end of the financial year coming around soon, this can be a good time to carry out a due diligence review, whether as reassurance that your chosen platforms are still the right ones, or whether to see if any others are now in contention.

The good news is if you have already put together your platform panel with the help of Analyser, it’s a very quick exercise to run a fresh report with the latest data built-in.

This is all integrated into our service for Platform Analyser premium users, with some big new value-adds to come very soon. If this is you, you can access your latest Adviser Briefing here, or via the insights tab within Platform Analyser.

If you’re a free user just now, this is all yours for the taking – the cost is £25+VAT per month. There’s no minimum contract, and one licence is enough for most firms. You can find out more at platform-analyser.com
